view from the Train Jaune

had a trip on this little meter-gauge railway that travels through the French Pyrenees . Its said to have the highest train station in France (although we'd thought we'd been to that on another railway near Pau , but apparently this stops at the highest SNCF station - Bolquère Eyne) at 1,592 meters.
Its an amazing feat of engineering skirting along the sides of high cliffs and passing over many spectacular bridges . There are great views down to the valley below but many of the bridges aren't seen that well from the train itself (some are-see extra) . We left the train at Bourge Madame , not far from the end of the line, with just enough time to grab lunch in a cafe before heading back on the train. On a future visit we'll try driving the route, seen below in the photo, and photographing the train en route.
