Athabasca Glacier on the Columbian Icefield
On our way from Jasper to Emerald Lake we paused for a tour of the Athabasca Glacier on this most amazing vehicle - see extra blip. Then onward.
Another bear on the side of the road and then finally arriving at Emerald Lake. I now know that this colour of the lakes and rivers is caused by "rock flour", which is fine-grained, silt-sized particles of rock, generated by grinding of bedrock by glacial erosion.
Not a low of people know that!
