Armathwaite Woods
I was struck by the brightness of sunlight bursting through the canopy on a long forgotten boundary wall in Armathwaite Woods near Penrith. It's nearly 30 years ago that I tried this painting, never happy with it. Looking back I was way to heavy with the shadows in the wall and my efforts to create a stone look didn't really work. Back to the drawing board - literally!
