PPPPick up a penguin!

Not a celebrity this time, but a man who had an unusual job. This is Jim who used to be a penguin erector at Chester Zoo! Or I could introduce him as ...Jim who thinks I look sexy in a neon safety vest....ha ha ha. Anyway, in the wild, penguins slide down the ice and can right themselves, but on the concrete at the zoo they just end up going round in circles and so Jim would step in and erect them. He says he is on the website as the official penguin erector....I shall have to investigate and check. He could just be taking the pppppp piss! lol

It was an extremely busy day today and it wasn't helped by the fire alarm going off during the evening session. There was no practise scheduled so as soon as the alarm went off the cry of, "Needles!" was shouted and we whipped all needles out and everyone was evacuated swiftly and smoothly. There was no fire and it was something minor that had happened in another area of the stadium, but we lost a few donations because of it. 

There was an eighteenth birthday party starting in the function room next to where we were working and there were two bouncers on the door. As Sue and I were loading the lorry we had such a laugh with them. "This is Colin, he used to be a penguin erector," said Sue. "Actually, my name is Jim," he said. I called him Jim, she called him Colin and he loved all the attention lol. So the extra is Sue with Colin!!!
