It's June?!

It may be June but the heating is on, the wellies & coats are back out and the comfort food has been made for tea... a decidedly autumnal feel to the day. It was supposed to be sports day today....

We are practising hard in the mornings for music festival next week. She's doing amazing on a grade 5 piece of clarinet fabulousness. I'm accompanying her for the first time (I'm not excited) and my part is not quite as polished as hers!

She had double music lesson after school today, though the teacher kept each bit much shorter than katie would have been keen for. She likes to go through everything she's working on but M doesn't do that. She's been helpful in preparing her for the festival though and Katie's enjoyed having the lessons rather than no music lessons. She's much less available than B which has left us with no teacher the last week of festival prep but I'm hoping we might manage an extra FaceTime lesson next week with B to help. We are normally super well organised for festival and this time hasn't felt quite like that, between the exams and the mix of teachers and such. But she'll go have fun!

It had been pouring with rain all day long so she did some puddle jumping after music. She got herself happily drenched and sat in the car with no trousers, socks or shoes! I nipped into the shop for a couple of bits and she took the opportunity to get her homework reading out of the way.

She's working so hard at the moment that I decided she deserved to chill out with a movie before bed tonight. She's curled up reading The Naughtiest Girl in School in bed & has informed me it's one of her favourite books.
