Rose Hips

Enjoyed a lovely day off work today, mainly getting on with chores but still had some time to myself getting out on my bike and reading. In my late teens I was drawn to reading Edna O'Brien books, prefering to escape into the emotionally-charged, dark world of her characters to reading approved text books for university studies. This morning, I read an extract in the Sunday papers from her about-to-be-released memoirs that prompted me to order a copy due for publication next month.

I've blipped Rose Hips before, reminiscing about my youth and the gathering of them to make syrup. Definitely an autumnal look and feel to the air now.
