A Moth

This moth was so active on the new thyme plant, flitting from one sprig to another, flapping its wings in a blur one minute, and perfectly still the next. I wonder if it was laying eggs? Tried to look, but I think they'd be too small to see. I'm waiting to see if the good folks at BugGuide can be any help.
