Blue Darter

This little beauty has taken up residence in our garden and is often hawking around but luckily returning to a favoured post, which make it a bit easier to photograph. That said the colour didn't come out - in real life the body is a startling light blue. I've no idea what species it is but I expect it is something like Blue Darter or Blue Hawker. My experience of Dragonflies and the like is that the names are what they say on the tin. Very happy to be told otherwise.
Off in the evening to the carpenters for dinner - good to be eating outdoors again with some very decent wine and food.
