Gavin's flowers

No, these are not flowers from Gavin - they are flowers given to him. I think it is the first time in his life he has received flowers! They were from the company we bought the outdoor furniture from - not only did they give us a good discount at the time of the purchase but they sent these flowers to Gavin once the furniture was delivered - that's pretty good service. They actually were in a flat box which seems to be a new way of delivering flowers, as it is meant to fit through your letterbox. Except we found them lying on the driveway as the courier couldn't be bothered to ring the bell!

The weekend is upon us once more - Thomas finishes his work experience week today and has absolutely loved it - mainly because he was lucky enough to work at a company which offers a very structured program so he did not spend the week filing and making tea.

Tomorrow night is the biennial summer ball at school. It is organised by a committee of parents and is usually a terrific evening with good food and we are kept entertained by watching people trying to drink from the vodka luge. Now, what to wear...long or short, sleeves or no sleeves....
