Sugar Water For Two
A bird by any other name would still be cute. Other names for Silvereyes: bright-bird, pihipihi, tauhou, whiorangi, white-eye. They are native but self introduced from Australia. They are not threatened. They feed on the ground, in shrubs and trees and in the air on invertebrates, fruit and nectar. Is 20% more likely to be found in gardens with feeders, where more than double the number of birds can be seen. Silvereyes are found in gardens nationwide but are most common in the South Island.
