Summer Solstice with the Hummers

I can't think of a more perfect way to spend the first day of summer than shooting hummingbirds at Patuxent Wildlife Refuge with WRPerry.  I couldn't believe how rusty I was.  Unfortunately, it is hard to get a good background for these hummingbirds and so I was stuck with the siding of the Ranger Station.  If I was clever, I would have changed the background color, but I am not.  Perhaps one day I will learn how to do that.

 I wanted so badly to capture a male, but I believe they are much faster than the females (or so it seemed today) and my only good shots were of the females.  Next time......
