Would you like a hand....
...to pack your bags?
Had to return a sweater to a major store today. Had a late breakfast with my son and his cadet friends in the said store. They were in uniform and were packing bags to raise money for their squadron. There should have been 16 there, but only 8 or 9 turned up, so I volounteered to help them for 2 hours before I did my shopping. I had great fun, chatting to everyone. It's amazing what people tell you, without prompting. I let young children play with the money bucket (shaking it to make a noise) whilst their frazzled mums could concentrate on paying etc knowing that they could hear them. I met people I worked with years ago. I would help out again. It's great to be appreciated. The staff and patrons were polite and friendly, and seemed to appreciate the help. Even the ones who did not want help, donated their change. The cadets that I could see all seemed to be smiling and chatting to staff and customers alike. I was very impressed- even the ones who looked like neds, took their piercings out and joined in.
Have a great weekend. Hope the sun stays, and the wind eases.
