Tiny Tuesday: Flora - Maggot

Isbi has asked us to illustrate fauna for today's TT.

I had the idea of lifting the lid of our compost bin. There was a spider and some miniscule baby spiders (I thought they were tiny flies until I counted their legs on a macro photo) but the light wasn't too good so getting decent shots of these tiny fast-moving creatures was tricky.

This maggot was a little more cooperative although was still wriggling a fair bit. It's only about 1mm wide and about 6mm long. It took me a while to work out which end was which but I think it's the head end on the left of the photo!
