Mono-Monday: "Things that Annoy Me" - Slugs

I'm sure these little creatures have an important place in ecology - as food for hedgehogs for example. But they annoy me when they eat all the leaves on our vegetables, or core their way into our potato crop (in fact we've given up trying to grow spuds in our little veggie patch because of them).

This particular specimen was sunbathing on our patio this morning, which was very kind of it as I was hoping to find one of its kind for my blip - but it was rather too close to the veggie patch for comfort...(however I resisted the urge to dispatch it to the slug colony in the sky).
