Knock, knock...
Another day of peeking through open doors:
Whisky Bond - Weird and wonderful Clipperton Project
Police Museum - Slightly odd but interesting museum in the Merchant City where the boys were able to buy a pair of very authentic looking handcuffs
Garnethill Synagogue - Enjoyed the building until hubby managed to send a rather lovely looking ornament crashing to the floor. Quick exit.
Glasgow Tenement House - not strictly 'Doors Open' but we had our NTS cards with us so took a look. Glad we did. The blip shows a scale model of the tenement building with teeny-weeny furnishings.
St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral - I don't do religion but if I did I reckon I'd come here to do my mystical thing (if only to look at the funny gargoyles on the way in)
Kelvinside Hillhead Parish Church - Palpably different from St Mary's but impressive nonetheless
Now we're finished for the weekend. We've taken in bite-sized chunks of Islam, Judaism, Christianity, law & order, art and social history. Whoever had the idea for Doors Open Days deserves a medal. All the places we went to were so busy with people taking the opportunity to learn a bit about history, about religions and cultures, about art. Surely that can only be a good thing.
