Blaise Castle

After an overnight stay in Bristol, we decided to avoid the full heat of the sun, and walked through the woodland paths on the Blaise Castle estate.  The only previous occasion we have walked here was on a wet day a couple of months ago, when there were just a few dog walkers around.  Today the estate was busy and once we emerged from the trees we found many families with their picnics and barbecues enjoying the grounds.

In the centre of the estate is Blaise castle itself, which opened to visitors just 10 minutes after we arrived, so we had a look around inside.  This picture is inside one of the towers.  The views from the top of the castle are well worth the climb up the spiral staircase.
