Eider in flight

This was our first full day at Jökulsárlón. there's so much going on you have to be quick to focus on the action as it happens. Keeping on top of camera settings is essential as the icebergs easily confuse the camera metering. This male eider duck in flight was my favourite of the day.

As the daylight dimmed the Arctic terns have a feeding frenzy in the channel where the water from the lagoon flows out to sea. It has to squeeze past the icebergs which are too big and get stuck in the channel. More practice and higher ISO required for better results I think! I've included one of my better efforts as an extra.

Hope you had a good day.
