How Things Work

We got a bill today.

For 10 cents.

That'll be worth the 70 cents for the stamp.  Plus the cost of the envelope.  And the four sheets of paper.  And the printer ink.

I'm struggling with this just a little bit.

However I did discover some more magic. 

I'm very fond of wordplay, and I was read some poetry which just shook me very gently by the throat.

You'll need German for this.

It's the last line that got me.

You know that some things are lost in translation, this would be one of them.  If I could make this poem sing in English as well as it does in German, I would be a very, very happy man.

As it is, I will nevertheless keep living and knowing that Deutsch is a beautiful language.
