Cullen Skink

The weather is absolutely terrible.  Every time we see the weather forecast we hear about the heatwave but it hasn't reached up here.  It is blowing a gale and the rain is horizontal.

We met up with our friends whom we bumped into a few days ago and went for a very wet and windy beach walk.  The beaches are fantastic but not at their best in the rain.

We had lunch at The Butty Bus at Leverburgh harbour.  It is run by a relative of the friends we met.  Its claim to fame is that Princess Anne once rolled up unannounced for bread and soup.

This soup is Cullen Skink which is an absolutely delicious soup made with smoked Haddock,  potatoes and cream.  Just what was needed after the soaking we got!
