Morning Mug of Tea
In the early morning light that streamed into the Lisbon flat, my sister with her reading and mug of tea. Breakfast together at a local café, and then dropping them at the airport for flight back to Birmingham... They have been a blessing to us on many levels and we are grateful.
We then walked alongside the Tagus - see egret in extra, to the Vasco de Gama shopping centre - Mike had forgotten his cavaquinho for tomorrow, and reckoned it was cheaper to buy a ukulele instead than drive back to Mourão to get it. On the way back, we walked from shadow to shadow, trying to avoid the sun - I know it must be galling for those wishing for sunshine, but it was actually quite dangerously hot, with warnings to drink lots, stay out of the sun, and so on.
Anyway, we are now back in the Alentejo, in our bedroom at our colleagues' lovely home in Mora, where we used to live; whilst sharing a glass of wine in the garden, a baby hedgehog ambles into view, so there's now a saucer of chocolate milk down for it (no other milk in the house).
