Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Busy day

What a busy day, and it didn't include the gym. Anne arrived to take Archie out for the day, and while she was here Uncle A popped in. We were due to meet Zoe in town, so JR went on ahead while I spent some time with Uncle A.

I met up with the others for lunch at the Refinery on St Andrews Square. We nabbed the nice big cushioned armchairs in the window seats, which was perfect, marred only by the speaker directly above us blasting out pop muzak 'for our dining pleasure'.

Back home and Anne came back, returning our cake tin, which was stuffed full of newly baked cookies. Yumyum. Anne was not pleased with Archie. He had been naughty and run off quite near the road. And he'd been in a barky, pulling on his lead mood. I told him he was grounded, but he wasn't bovvered. He knew it was an empty threat - we were going out for dinner with Rufus and his mum.

And a very nice dinner it was too - Steak Night at the (dog friendly) local restaurant, the Rabbit Hole. When we left, we passed the local pub. It was such a warm evening, we sat outside and had a G&T and chat to the locals. Then we had another one.

At one point, I was holding Rufu's lead, and became aware that there was nothing on the end of it. He had somehow, quietly, squirmed out of his harness, which looks impossible, but caused a lot of hilarity. We only left when they came to take the tables inside! A most pleasant evening - must do it again soon.
