Wild Wednesday: "Gizza Ride Mum...!"

I took some shots of the young waterbird life on Killingworth Lake after my swim (no I didn't swim in the Lake, but in the Leisure Centre next to it!).

Mr & Mrs Coot have 5 lovely cute chicks and the swans have 5 cygnets (I blipped the coots' nest back in April - see one of the extras here). I decided that this shot of a chick trying (unsuccessfully) to hitch a ride was the best for today's Wild Wednesday blip. I don't actually know whether it was trying it on with Mum or Dad (how does one tell Mr Coot from Mrs Coot? - I don't know!") but as this adult was spending more time with the babies than the other I'm guessing it was the Mum.
