Chania
It's Mrs BB birthday today and we decided to visit Chania, one of the bigger cities in Crete, about 18 miles from our apartment. We've not been before. The Venetian Old Harbour was large and we were pleasantly surprised how nice it was; loads of lovely shops, cafes, restaurants and the like. It made for a pleasant few hours in the sunshine.
Walking around the harbour we saw a crowd around a cardboard box. Two young cute adorable puppies had been abandoned. Mrs BB loves dogs and she wanted to take them home but Mr Miserable said "No!". At least they weren't dumped on a mountain is the one positive.
Two other photo's I liked from the day were of two street beggars. One a young lad that would not be selected for The Greece 'X' factor, and a beggar lady.
This evening we went to a Restaurant on the harbour in Kolymbari (the main village next to ours) for a meal to mark Mrs BB birthday. It's an early night as we've early to rise for The Samaria Gorge walk tomorrow.
