Kilmalcolm

Interesting to see the old and no longer used spelling of the village. A quick search says it was used in the 19th century based on the presumption the village was named after Malcolm, one of the kings of Scotland. It is believed, however that the name originates from St Columba and the dedication of a religious cell in the 6th or 7th century.
