Happy birthday Carol

What an interesting night last night staying up till 3 for the election results. Very different from what I expected after the awful Brexit one. It seems the university cities and London, the areas pro-EU, were rejecting the Tories, whereas their majority increased in the Brexit areas. At first I was disheartened by the Scottish result, till it was pointed out that in fact even with 35 SNPs that was still more than any year till 2 years ago. Unfortunately in our area the Brexit ultra right Tory increased her majority, and the surprise was that Labour came second. Wonderful news from our friends in Ipswich - the son of Selwyn G(l)ummer was ousted by Sandy for Labour.

In the evening I went to Tyneside cinema - I'd organised a surprise 60th birthday party for a friend in the Digital lounge. We all took nice canapés and we had a private bar. She loved the surprise - we had lovely food, fizz and a light-hearted French film ((Carol is fluent) called Beautiful Lies. I'm so glad it went well.
