inspired by the spire of All Saints
This is the view from our friends' garden. The spire had been taller when it was first erected but the Victorians found it to be unstable and so in 1840 re-built it at a reduced height. The building is grade one listed and quite a daunting task for the church members to maintain and heat.
On a dull day, the tower seems to loom over the garden, but when the sun shines and the bells are ringing, it fairly lifts the spirits.
