Time past

Tuesday 6th June 2017 (1746)

After such glorious weather in recent weeks it seemed a shame that we've been hit with such bad weather. Extremely heavy rain today meant that it had to be an indoors day. The suggestion was Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum. Some of us were not over excited by the prospect. However, a short video of potential photos started the creative juices flowing and off we went.

The bonus was being allowed into the two workshop sheds. As we stepped through the door we seemed to step back in time and they were amazing Aladdin's caves of old engineering equipment and tools all over the place. We got to work and I discovered an hour and a half had gone by in a flash and I had been so engrossed in photographing things that I hadn't moved more than five feet! We were surprised how enjoyable it was and the rest of the day flew by. So many creative shots were available and it gave me the opportunity to get to grips with my "new" camera a lot more. I really enjoyed it. We've just finished viewing everyone's photos and there was such a variety, a great day and a great evening. In a funny sort of way I'm pleased that the weather forced us indoors and gave us this opportunity.

I've included a few extras. One shows that it was even raining indoors! This is a shot of a drop of water bouncing off John's shoulder.
