What you're made of

Tomorrow is TallGirl's day for showing the above (title) via the above (picture).

I had planned to blip the desk I built today for CarbBoy, but then TallGirl did a run through of her presentation and this slide stole the show (the animated version is what you really need to see). She is under-prepared and terribly nervous but, at this late stage, all I can really do is compliment what's fab (thankfully most of it) and tweak what's not (in a very encouraging 'praise sandwich' way).

For those following the school saga; today a general announcement was made to TallGirl's year group that anyone who wanted to use English or Spanish could do so. So that's on the eve of the test.... Suddenly TallGirl feels lucky to have had a weekend's notice!

Today was, otherwise, mostly about sawing, sanding, gluing, screwing and varnishing. Also some hammering in of post supports (unrelated project) and re-staking of an apple tree that looked precarious in today's gusty weather.

Tonight the kids did not fall for being served spaghetti carbonara in place of the advertised (favourite) pasta and bacon. So much for my trying to make them eat normal stuff.
