Before the rain

Spent a while in the garden yesterday , tidying up, replanting, clearing and checking. Yes checking to see how the garden is growing. We planted our wild flower/ wild life meadow garden 4 years ago but had to make some changes a year later when we decided to include a pond. The pond is now well established although carrying a touch of algae just now. Hopefully the straw bales, higher water levels and the marginal plants will help to reduce the algae. There are newts, frogs and lots of insects especially the pretty damsel flies. The wild and formal flowers are coming well into bloom now much to the bees delight and ours!
