The Breakfast Club.
Met up with some other mums for breakfast today. We had a good old moan about school after our latest letter arrived involving a demand for money. So far in the last week I've paid volleyball, brownie and scout fees, and music lessons. This letter is inviting views on the children having a residential trip in year 3,4,5 and 6. Some of our views were unrepeatable. My daughter's residential is a trip to Stratford Upon Avon for her Shakespeare topic, £70 for one night, to study scriptwriting and plays.I'm not convinced she needs to travel 45 miles and stay overnight for that, although I'm sure she'll enjoy it. Other trips were travelling to Derbyshire, again to do activities that are available locally. Already we've got fund raising days, harvest festival to donate to, and cake stalls to supply, forgotten all about this side of school in the holidays. Ended up having a good laugh about whether our 9 year olds could say iambic pentameter, never mind learn what it is and how to use it. We all felt better after breakfast and a moan, and a large hot chocolate and cream. Bought these biscuits as friends are round for brownies tonight, thought I'd better test one to make sure they're ok .
Have a good weekend!
