Tiring them out - if only!

I spent the morning baking for #2 daughter's street party tomorrow. The street is closed from traffic in the afternoon, everybody is bringing food and the children are free to play with bikes, scooters etc in the road. It's a great idea to help create a little community. There are a lot of families with young children, but as they are at work they don't get much chance to meet each other. It'll be good fun.

I also made a chocolate a cake for Mr C's 74th birthday which is on Monday, but we'll have it at the street party. #2 daughter and husband are going to a wedding tonight so we picked up Thomas and James and drove them back here. It was a lovely evening so we took them to the little park by the river to run off some steam, before bed. It is 8.15 and James is still babbling in his bed - I told him he should stay in his room but he could look at his books. Mr C took Thomas upstairs to another room - he'll go off ok.

We thought we'd be ok for taking them to play in Cragside adventure playground tomorrow morning before we take them home to the street party - but now Mr C tells me the forecast is rain all morning - and they have no coats. Oh b......other!
