The Attic

Tonight I stashed the Christmas decorations up in the attic for another year. It's a big, creepy space which holds a mountain of stuff but has a lot of dark corners.

When we took possession of our flat we found some odd things in the attic. There was a working crossbow without bolts. There were three large boxes of mathematical graph paper. And there was a hardcover, gilt-embossed diary containing spidery hand-written tales of the emotional lives of a group of students.
Maybe they lived in the attic. Maybe they're still up there.

I rescued the Oddbins sign when the shop closed three years ago. Nice to have a piece of Corstorphine history.
People still call our bus stop the Oddbins stop.
