The Meadows Festival arrives in Town

The first weekend of flaming June hosts the Meadows Festival with an attendant fair.
These are not events I look forward to because of the associated noise, but they have taken place every year since I returned to Edinburgh in the seventies.

His Lordship and I wandered through the fair this afternoon to see what was happening and were amazed to see so many vomit inducing high sky rides on offer. With it being a Friday afternoon and Edinburgh school children let loose early from classes the scariest rides were full of screaming kids.

At our end of the Meadows there was a bustle involved in erecting the Festival music stage and other marquees which house all the events taking place over two days.
The first things to arrive this morning were the portaloos which serve mostly the ladies and older men. The younger males replete with beer much prefer, like our canine friends, to use the park trees. The stall holders and their wares will arrive at first light tomorrow taking up position along all the paths.

We have a questionable grand stand view of proceedings
