Dreieinigkeitskirche
Church of the Holy Trinity in St. Georg in Hamburg. Taken, as you can see, just before 8 this morning.
A full-on day. The workshop was a really intense and productive one, my support ideas were appreciated and not laughed at. Our progress was so good that we ended the workshop earlier than anticipated.
This is a Good Thing. As it meant I could take an earlier train home and anything that meant that I didn't get home just after 11 has got to be good thing. But it was tight in the amount of time I had to get to the station...
But I went for it. The train was due to leave at 24 past the hour and I left the office on the hour. Got to the underground station just as a train arrived, got into the Central Station, ran, cursing diots who got in my way, to platform 12, checked the departure board... Oh, my train is now leaving from Platform 13 (there should have been some dramatic music at this point), so run back up the stairs, along and down on to Platform 13 just as the ICE arrives.
I got on, sat down and then they announced that because they'd just discovered an unexploded WWII bomb near Hannover, no trains would be leaving the station until it had been defused. How long was that going to take? Well, no-one knew.
Turns out it was just over an hour...
And then ICE did that thing it frequently does and kept stopping in the middle of nowhere for no discernable reason. All of which meant that my hopes for getting home at a really good early evening time were for nought.
Still, it wasn't after 11 and the workshop was a really good one. It's been a great day from that perspective.
