Not Our Plan
Sunday, I got up...rounded some things up, and head to my parent's farm. I was super happy to see Sugar Bear. She was still having a grand time with her cousins. We had lunch, and some chit chatting. Then I rounded up Sugar's things while she had a bit more fun down by the river.
Then we headed to another town to check in our on baby kitten that we had decided to get. He is only 5 weeks old (today), and wanted to see how he was doing. We were not scheduled to get him until he was 8 weeks old. Oh my...we were saddened to find him in not a great spot. Mama cat was ignoring the litter, and he was in a messy, wet, and dirty environment. The owner told us to take him....so we did. Sugar nearly went into shock. She was shaking....and teeth were chattering....and goose bumps on her skin. It was 82 Degrees outside...she was not cold. I talked her down.....and got her breathing, and drinking water. She was so worried about this little guy. I told her that we would take good care of him, and it would be okay, even though he was so young. So...we dropped by a pet store...got some supplies and headed on home. After a bath, some kitten milk, and food, and a really good nap on Sugar...he started to perk right up. He has stolen our hearts already.
Sugar slept on the floor in the bathroom with him. Trying to keep his world small to minimize this stress. He used the litter box great, and settled right in for a long night.
PS. Don't miss yesterday's blip for the chance to see a really chubby baby bunny!
