Twist & Shoot

A while ago I saw one of Max Ellis' shots of his boys where the centre of the shot was focused and the rest a twisty blur. He very kindly explained that the rear-sync flash mode combined with a long exposure, whilst turning the camera would produce said result. I tried this for the first time on the 24 hr Photo Marathon I took part in recently. If you follow the link you'll see (amongst all the other rubbish) three twisty shots.

I mention this because it took me ages to work out that something similar had happened here, just with natural light....and by accident. And also because it's a dead simple effect to try - it worked first time.

I used my fall back colour process - " Granny's Attic" from Nik Soft HDR to finish.
