Headless
Perhaps some apologies first for this image however this is country living.
Yesterday evening we could hear the most awful cawing of crows. From the garden I could see what looked like every crow in the neighbourhood gathering around some other creature. With the help of binoculars it was a buzzard and it had something pinned under it's talons. It was a crow and whilst out with the dogs this morning I came across the remains. It appears the buzzard only wanted a tasty head titbit or the numerous other crows saw it off. A bit of karma I thought! Crows are so clever but a real problem on stock farms. All lambing is done indoors here to prevent lambs being attacked by crows. Only last week a calf had its tongue pecked partly away by crows as it was being born. And we are waging a war against one crow which is intent on taking the newts out our pond. The dogs have been trained to bark and chase any crows seen in the garden but as soon as they return to the house the crow is back.
