Experiment

After school I took the boys into Edinburgh. D was partaking in a psychology masters student's experiment. He had to wear this hat with wires, it was measuring activity in his brain while he learnt a piano piece. He's never played piano before, he only took 3 goes at watching the piece to know it and play it. The student was expecting half an hour of readings. He got a bit bored as she asked him to keep going and didn't play it so well after a while. She'd had adult who hadn't got in after half an hour. She was a bit taken back by mr memory. He also had to do a counting game where he was shown several screens with different number of coloured dots on, he had to count each screen and at the end remember the number of blue dots on each one. I couldn't do it after 3 screens... he nearly did 7 screens. He has now announced he'd like piano lessons - now he's realised it's "actually quite easy". C sat there drumming out the rhythm and humming the tune. He can't help himself. While I hadn't a clue! They don't get their memory abilities from me!
