View from my kitchen
We got the 11.30 boat for Scrabster, hoping to meet our friends along the north coast. However they were delayed as they needed a bandage for their exhaust. Now they are camped up somewhere near Dounreay. I don't think a view to a nuclear power station can be as nice as ours for tonight.
We stopped at Bettyhill for the museum which we thought was about Strathnaver and the clearances there but it was mainly about the
MacKay clan.
We enjoyed the drive along the coast, last done when we came home from living in Hong Kong in 1970. It is still single track road around the stunningly beautiful Loch Eribol. Ben Loyal looked suitably atmospheric with a dramatic sky, but I had to choose this picture for today, showing the beach at our freedom camping spot looking almost Mediterranean in the sun. It is cold though!
