Swarm time

A back blip, too busy with all sorts of stuff !!


Last weekend I noticed a lot of activity outside our beehive, I assumed it was due to the warm weather and presence of plenty pollen around. The gorse is magnificent here and has been for the past few weeks. Anyway a couple of hours later I noticed the activity had moved several metres from the hive and as I walked towards our apiaryI noticed this swarm hanging on the bramble and wild rose bushes. Bit of a prickly rather than sticky situation! A few hours later we had caught them all, it was a huge swarm and fun to watch them walking into the nuc box. Now all are safely into a new brood box and hive number 2 begins....
