We're leaving on a jet plane ...

On Friday the 2nd June at 2pm I'll be back again ...

Okay as music lyrics go, not as good as the original. Anyway we left home on time, left Top Gun with a long list (mostly about cat welfare) and left work behind as well. Except I did a couple of hours this morning. Unfinished business, literally.

Of course we are jetting out just as the UK is gearing up for a heatwave. No doubt the Daily Mail will be running headlines by Wednesday saying that you wouldn't get such good weather under Jeremy Corbyn and by the way if anyone dies it is the fault of lazy and incompetent NHS managers.

Okay I need to let go. So looking forward to seeing The Girl Racer in her natural habitat. Have heard so much about Canada. Only nine and a half hours ...

Postscript - arrived safely in Canada about the same time we left the UK e.g early Monday evening thanks to the weird Einsteinian phyisics of the international dateline. BIG surprise at Vancouver Airport then a long drive up into the mountains to Whistler. Really nice hotel where we could drink tea and catch upon the sofa before collapsing into bed.

Being in flight we hadn't heard about the Manchester bombing which was terribly sad and sobering news. Surprisingly poor coverage in media over here.

Watched an Amazing Korean film on the plane - "Vanishing Time - The Boy Who Returned" - find it on the internet and buy, great movie .
