Blowfly
I was supposed to be helping Simon hang a gate but thought a few quick snaps of a foal would do the job for today's blip.
I tootled happily over to the stables of Homing in but no way could I get a shot with the cutest foal licking me and the camera lens and it was too much fun anyway to take it seriously!
It soon became apparently obvious there was still a swallows nest in the stable - as before. This time the stable was stacked to the gunnels with hay with no chance of seeing anything but when mum flew in again to a massive chorus of tweets I was lost and had to at least try. I scrambled high up into the roof where there was an 8" gap, flattened and wriggled over the bales in the spidery apex. Thanks to all my blip buds here as there wasn't a spider picture that didn't flash thro' my mind at this point! I did get a few shots Swallows nesting but they were not getting fed with me there! Very late in the year for this and I do wonder whether they will make it!
Meanwhile I was blissfully unaware that a gentle tapping on the gate post with a 4lb lump hammer had turned into a crescendo of thumps and bangs which he thought might just alert me to the fact he wanted help. Oops!
I went in the end with this Blowfly on a blackberry shot as it was so colourful with it's bright greeny/blue body which just looks like beaten metal!
