The B Positives

What a fabulous day we've had! Earlier in the week the forecast for today was lightening, a couple of days later it was downgraded to rain....but the sun shines on the righteous...and today it shone for most of the day.

I was up early, cooking, so that I could take sausage barms for everyone. We had to be at the Quays for 9am to register and most people had just tumbled out of bed....but the sun came out, Christina brought the gazebo, we started feeling excited and after a cuppa we were eager to start.

Race seven was our first race...we had a safety briefing, a team photo and before we knew it we had on life jackets, a paddle in our hands and we were wobbling about in a small boat.

The first race took one minute sixteen seconds, we managed to shave six seconds off the second race, though, and the third was the worst one. We need to keep the thought of the second race in our heads because we were brilliant in that one. We were buzzing when we got off the boat, we just paddled as one.

I took loads of pics, but I was really pleased to see GREEN56 arrive just in time for the first race. I gave her my camera when I raced and she took loads of brilliant pics for me....thank you so much C, you are a superstar!!

I have nearly six hundred photos and to choose one to blip was so hard, so I decided a team photo was the one. I am absolutely shattered now and I think I will sleep like a log tonight, in fact I can hardly keep my eyes open now!

One of the best things about today, though, was the fact that we reached and surpassed our target of £1000. The money all goes to The Christie Hospital.....every penny is a punch in the face against cancer. A massive THANK YOU to everyone who sponsored us :))
