Standing on the corner of...
This inscription by the artist Lawrence Weiner is carved into the corner of the pavement outside the Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow. I must have walked past it many times without noticing it was there.
Today there was a large party of tourists round the statue of the Duke of Wellington earnestly listening to their guide explaining why there is a traffic cone on his head. I just hope they understood the subtleties of this Glasgow gesture! At the same time a selection of Japanese tourists were in a variety of contortions in an attempt to capture themselves and the behatted Duke with their selfie sticks.
