Historic Jamestown

We drove to Williamsburg today, still very hot.

We arrived at the Super 8, a proper USA Motel like you see in the movies.

We had time to take a visit to the Historic Jamestown, the site where the first colonists arrived from England arrived in 1607! There was lots to see here and learn. This was the actual site of the landings and the are still archeological digs going on and new discoveries being made.

The courage of these first men who came from England is astonishing or perhaps a sign of how bad things were in England. Tomorrow we plan to visit the Jamestown Settlement which is a reconstruction of Jamestown...should be good and a promise of cooler weather too!!

Our air-con failed in our room, luckily we were able to move to another room, phew!
