A day of showers

It was unfortunate that our much needed rain decided to arrive on the day of the Fife Show , our local agricultural show. I am sure the many farmers present would have been glad to see the rain but just not on the show ground !

I spent part of the morning as I have done the last 3 years judging the children's pet show and thankfully the 2 rabbits, 6 guinea pigs and 2 hens all went home with rosettes.

Hopes of spending the rest of the day photographing the animals and machinery were dashed by the heavy rain that came on mid afternoon and despite our brollies my friend Nick and I got so soaked we had to head home to a cosy fire. We had enjoyed watching the ridden Clydesdales, the local fox hounds entertaining the children and the sheep dog demonstration.

Things improved in the evening and we all enjoyed a pizza in St Andrews and a walk at the East Sands where the blip was taken - even then there was a drizzle hence the slight rainbow.

The extra shows the pipes and drums bravely playing at the show ground - the most colourful photo I was able to take on a dreich day.
