Something to celebrate........

Today we had a fine, sunny day - all day! Something we haven't had for for over a week. The frost this morning wasn't as severe as we thought it would be, in fact it was rather light. The fog was hanging around when I went to feed calves before breakfast, but by 10.30am the fog had mostly lifted to show the snow covered mountains.

The mountain on the left in today's photo is Mt Mantel. Some of the snow had melted by the time we went to milk mid afternoon, although there will probably still be a light frost overnight.

The cows in this photo are part of our twindling calving mob. We are now looking at under 50 cows left to calve - all which should be finished by the middle of October. Now that will be something else to celebrate......
