feeling at home
on a day when I have seen so many beautiful things, it is hard to decide what to blip. Here is my idea of simple design perfection - a bowl from the Ruskin workshop. It sits in the Minstrels' Gallery at Blackwell, a lovely Arts and Crafts House on the shores of Windermere. Being in this house, and the view out to the hills, is my idea of heaven :-) I could easily live in this house, with its huge fireplaces and many nooks designed especially to be "rooms within rooms" where you could sit and read or talk or dream.
I was on an outing with the Dumfries Embroiderers' Guild, (see 1st extra) who kindly let me come even though I'm not a member. (They are an amazing group of women and very friendly.)
In the morning, we visited the Quaker Tapestry Museum in Kendal .Everything there was wonderful, too - not only the embroidery panels but also what they portray. I feel very comfortable with the beliefs of Quakers and the way they live their lives.
