Swan Sparkle

Back with the ladies on the early Thursday walk for the first time for a couple of weeks and what a glorious morning it was.

The grounds men were out with the drive on mowers on the green we pass at the top of the course and when we crossed the field it was full tall grasses and meadow flowers. All good subjects for a blip but when we got to the pond, no ducklings still, but the male swan in all his magnificence.

Loved this with the sparkle on the water showing up his powerful motion. He powered down from the island (we think the pen is on a nest there) to the feeding station and spent as much time chasing off the Canada Geese as he did eating. He really is quite something to see.

Hope we get to see some cygnets soon.

Spent the rest of the morning gardening till I was too tired and then I've been trying to sort my Highland photos. Hopefully will make a Flickr album soon.
