Going up.
I have photographed our bedroom view on several occasions in different seasons. We look down all the back gardens and have a great view of the trees in the park and the St Ives Estate above. You can see the Hawthorne that I used for a blip yesterday (centre right) and all the lovely bluebells, forget me nots and columbines in flower at the moment.
The difference today is that an extension is at last going up on the house next door.
Our elderly neighbour died suddenly two years ago, his wife went into care and she died last year. The house sold to a young couple last November. We thought they might be in for Christmas but no, they have building plans and have gutted the house. They said they hoped to be in by June. That being only two weeks away looks pretty unlikely.
The building has only just started and they only seem to stay a few hours a day. The building is only out to the former line of the garage but it will be two stories with a pitched roof. So it will not impede our view which we much enjoy. They are being very considerate too with the parking as we are all at the top of a cul de sac.
No complaints then. Change can be difficult but I'm sure once they are in we will get along fine.
(This was taken when it was dry but dull this morning. It started to rain as I walked up the village to Pilates and it has rained all day since may be that's why the builders went home!)
